Grades

Bella Donna types (including Volkerfrieden) are graded by stem length and bunched by 10 stems.	Delphiniums are graded by stem length and are bunched by 5 stems.
Flower spikes on Hybrid Delphinium should be greater than 50% the length of the stem	It is important to purchase only STS treated delphiniums to avoid flower shattering.
Larkspur bloom spike should be approximately 30% of stem	Larkspur is graded by stem length and bunched by a minimum of 10 usable stems.
Larkspur should be cut with blooms showing good colour but not open.

Packing

Ask for Larkspur shipped in procona water packs.

Preparation

Delphinium Ajacis is a popular cut flower delphinium variety which also dries very well.	Foliage should be removed from the bottom 20 cm of the stems.
Should be re hydrated using a commerical hydration solution such as "Quick Dip".

Quality

Foliage should be dark green and free of blackening and powdery mildew.

Vase Live

Ask for delphiniums that have been shipped in procona water packs for longer vase life.
